Downs House Summer Fete Raises Funds for Dementia Friendly Petersfield

A brilliant day at our summer fete

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our summer fete at Downs House on Saturday!

From the BBQ, tombola, raffle, craft stalls, face painting, and the petting zoo (and so much more!), it really was a brilliant day for the whole family. We raised vital funds for our local charity, Dementia Friendly Petersfield.

Supporting Dementia Friendly Petersfield

Dementia Friendly Petersfield is a local charity set up in 2016 to increase awareness and understanding of dementia in our town. It helps people living with dementia, and their families, feel supported and part of the community rather than on their own.

The charity runs tea dances, choirs, a memory café, music groups and support groups for people living with dementia in and around Petersfield. It also works with local businesses and organisations to help Petersfield become a more dementia friendly place to live.

As a care home in Petersfield caring for many people living with dementia, this is a cause close to our hearts. Our summer fetes have supported Dementia Friendly Petersfield before, and we are proud to keep that link going. The money raised on Saturday will help the charity carry on its work across our local community.

We are also grateful to all our wonderful volunteers and to our team whose hard work made everything possible.

A huge well done to everyone at Downs House. So many people made a special effort to make the day memorable for our residents, and it really showed.

Thank you as well to all the families who joined us. It meant so much to our residents to spend the afternoon with their loved ones and the wider Petersfield community.
